- Strong communication skills; fluency in English and Mandarin is a plus.

Reporting to the Group Managing Director in Singapore, you will work closely with the Design Director & Creative Director in Singapore to oversee design projects within AI KL office which includes managing resources and developing strategic design plans with projected timelines and budgets, within the Commercial Office Interior Design (ID) fit-out space.
Your new role
As a Creative Design Director, you will be the key figure in interpreting client briefs and turning them into creative solutions, delivering high-quality designs, overseeing design teams, and troubleshooting design problems. These will all translate towards you delivering a truly client-centric solution for multinational and local companies across Southeast Asia.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the creative vision and the standard of output (processes, design methodology, etc.) across team members. Must be able to prepare and write up for RFP / Tender design package and provide detailed design and solutions in technical drawings (AUTOCAD drafting).
- Pitch ideas confidently and present the creative vision (“sell” works) clearly to clients, as well as communicate in the same manner to members of the design team.
- Client presentations/ client meetings – Interpreting abstract business concepts and client briefs and turning them into creative ideas, including what specific design elements they may wish to incorporate.
- Responsible for Space planning, Conceptual design & Design Development for each project – Manage the design work progress/ schedules and design development elements for Interior Design works, MEP works, Architectural designs & Structural design.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders, sub-contractors, make tenders for construction works and work with Project Manager on the design elements including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
- Manage and review on design team Tender/ Construction drawing package – collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model to regularly deliver design solutions (e.g. drawings, onsite construction works, finishing materials – furniture, lighting, tiles, etc)
- Briefing & Liaison with Quantity Surveyor (QS) & Contractor on Design Costing and its detailed entity. Collaborate with the Project Manager (PM) to coordinate with scope of ID works (Design & Build, MEP works, FF&E, Material Supplies, etc)
- Coordinate inputs from Building Management, Architects or consultants to ensure compliance of regulation. And also obtain signed off for all drawings and its finishes.
- Perform site analysis checks as to understand the detailed client requirements and ensure that its quality design elements are met.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Work experience of at least 10 years specializing Interior Design or Interior Architecture (Commercial Office ID Fit-Out space). With a minimum of 5 years managerial or senior-level design experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Architecture and Design or any related field(s) that relates to the role
- Strong creativity skills and the vision to turn briefs into creative projects
- Strong communication skills to advocate for and present ideas to our clients
- Strong knowledge of AutoCad, SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop, etc
- Possess LAM certification is an added advantage.
- Excellent leadership, organization and analytical skills.
